Chaithra worked as a journalist in Udupi, as a news anchor in Spandana TV, and as a subeditor in Udayavani. She is also a member of the Akhil Bharathiya Vidhyarthi Parishath’s National Executive Committee.
Chaithra was arrested by Bengaluru CCB police on September 13, 2023, for allegedly defrauding an industrialist. According to sources, Chaithra stated she could get an MLA seat for the businessman in exchange for money.
